Artist's Comments

Hi, here is my second car drawing. This is a 2005 Lotus Elise, the reference photo reminded me of a face with those big eyes and toothy smile.:D What I learned with this one is cars are not harder to draw then people, just a tad different. They both have hard and soft lines, varying tones and lots of little details. The highlights were key to this one and took a steady hand and lots of patience... I felt at times I was rendering a piece of smooth sculpture. I recomend to any artist to draw a car, it's great practice.

11 x 14 inch
Smooth Bristol
3b, H and Mech pencil
Large and small blending sticks
40hrs (a week)

*Edit* I scanned the drawing, it looks a little better then the digital image. ~Linda
