Portrait of Peter Morrisby *imaginee

This was a commission, one that I worked on for near 2 months. Peter was the drummer of the band Bipolar, he passed away last year...his dad wanted a portrait of him and also of him playing his drums so I came up with this idea. The drums took a very long time to draw, the reference for them were not a HQ photo but I was able to see most all of the different tones/shapes so this is what I drew. The sky BG was made up and the words in the clouds were what the client requested. Today Pete (the client) came to my home to pick up the portrait, this was a first for me because I always ship the drawings to there new homes. The emotions that we're seen and felt were ones I will never ever forget!

That is simply fabulous. And no matter how many times I read about the method you use to do these drawings or however many of yours I look at, I still find them amazing.
