Portrait of Baby Brook by imaginee Portrait of Baby Brook by imaginee
I worked on this commission for a month, the size is 15 x 20 inches. Will say I loved drawing this adorable baby, and the details were easier to draw due to the large portrait size.

Drawn on Smooth Bristol, 3b, b and H, blending stumps and tissue, for the background I used some powdered graphite.

This is lovely work, and lovely shading in the background. How do you apply the powdered graphite? I have never worked with it and would like to experiment with a different technique for my backgrounds. Nice texture on the fur in the hat as well. - TJ

can you please teach me how to draw real people, i know you are probably very busy, and i know it takes practice, but i am a really good drawer, just not as good at realism, if you could just take a few minutes of your time to tell me how (in traditional drawing) how you shade and make the face proportional, i would appreciate it more than you could ever know! just any tips you can provide... i especially need help on hair
