Fall at my house by imaginee Fall at my house by imaginee
I was out walking around and snapped a few photos.... fall is always so pretty upstate. The house was built in 1868, we love it but it's way to big and empty now that the kids are grown and moved out so we put it on the market this year.

I always liked so much of american architecture, I think it very beautiful white house, without walls, green garden, it is very beautiful in fall when the leaves on the garden, 140 years is a long time, has a good structure is home
remember from my childhood in my grandmother's house

maybe if you cropped out the cars or moved them and re-shoot, the picture would be far better. other than that it is very successful. the colours are very powerful

Man I'd love to have that house, it is beautiful and old. I love old things, I am a sucker for them. I wouldn't want to move from it but I can see your point ;P . Someday I'd love to visit or move to one of the New England states b/c all the fall pictures look so beautiful :aww: :faint:.

wow, I could never move from this house, this would be my dream house, gorgeous. Love everything about it, great shot! If I may ask what is the square footage? It is huge. What a great old farmhouse. I envy the time you spent there. I love wide open spaces, away from the madding crowds...=D

I do love being off the beaten path a little:) The house is 3800 square foot, 15 rooms, 6 bedrooms....for sure hubby and I are ready to down-size!

Wow, what an expansive house, I understand the downsizing, but gosh, it would be so hard to give it up...I love to fish too, and that pond would be stocked no doubt. Not to mention the farming. I love to do large gardens, and I mean large, enough to put up jars for canning for the winter and spring. Years ago, I had property that allowed me to do that, cut our grocery bills in half. I miss living like that. Now I live in a development, yuk I hate it, too many neighbors breathing down my back, lol, one, day...wish I had the money to buy it, I'd move tomorrow =)

Wow, you've really got it all: a family, a great big monster house with nice cars sitting in the driveway, good looks, incredible talent... and that's only the things we know about. Life must be enjoyable from your perspective. :):horns:

I'll buy it! lol I wish. I want your lawn. I had a lawn like that at my old house but, it was not as green and pretty. You've kept it very well. The angle of this shot makes it feel far away as though you were moving toward the house. It's really cool. :)

I liked the angle too, it's a bit different. The lawn is well taken care of by my husband and also by mother nature who waters it and gives it plenty of sunshine:D

Ah well mother nature tends to do that. I unfortunately now live in a house with a large yard of woodchips - not the most green thing ever. But there are some very nice redwoods right by our door which makes up for it :)

Spring is the best time of year here (southern Illinois), though the weather is a tad volatile, but Fall here tends to be your basic brown and ocher. Probably why I miss the Fall there so much. I can definitely appreciate your love of the Spring, though. There was (may still be) a house in Lakewood (town on Chatauqua Lake, near where I lived) that we used to make a point of driving by every spring, because the owner had a flower plot that spelled out "IT'S SPRING!" when they bloomed out.

Weird stuff a person can't help but remember.
LOVE your house, by the by. Not sure I could move out, were it mine, regardless of the reason.
